This was my first week with my new companion and i found out
that hes super dope he plays the guitar and teachs like a stud!!! hes actually
from a little town in Ecuador called Rio Bamba but he moved to spain when he
was 7 years old and then got called back to hes own country! and he is going
home in september so hes got a good amount of time. So we did a ton this week
and found 7 new investigadors its actually not that much but on friday we found
them and it was super cool the way we did. so we were on an interchange
with my zone leaders and we were going to visit an old investigador and at his
house there was like 5 other doods that were freinds of his and they all looked
like hardcore thugs so like missionaries we are we were like hey!!! and got to
know them and stuff and we started talking about religion and all of them said
they all were catholic but they dont go to church and stuff and then somthing i
learned from my zone leader was somthing really simple is that thru super
simple questions you can catch somones atention.like in this case it was just
the question have you ever thought why are you in Ecuador? and they all wanted
to know more and we explained the plan of salvacion and how god wants us to be
happy and has made a plan so that we can. and we talked about babtism and
how it deletes all of the mistakes and wrong doings they have down in the past
and they were all like super shocked at that and didnt even know it was
possible!!! we invited them to conference but none of them came but thats ok we
have a day to come back to teach them all another time.
oh speaking conference i loved it and i love the profet
because i know we has all of the preisthood keys and authority to act in the
name of God so i trust him. one of my favorite talks was Elder Arnold of
the seventy. He talked about the ship that were out in the middle of the
storm and another fishing ship went out to rescue them even know they knew they
wert going to make it back without getting caught in the storm and i could
really apply it to missionary work because if anyones know a little about
missionary work they know that it is super hard and you are going to get caught
in the storm a little bit and get whiped back and forth and back and forth and
it would just be easier to give up and call it quits but you dont cause of the
love that you have of God and the people that are stuggling and you go out into
that storm anyway and you never give up until you can rescue that ship and that
family! If anyone of you knows a "ship" that is caught out in
the storm right now please help them it is incredible what the power of a
freind can do and knowing somones name. Also if you feel like you are
caught out in the storm right know do not give up! keep pushing your moter and
be humble to the counsels of the profets and of true freinds! God will
never give up on you! even if you feel like you are at the bottom of the
sea and there is know way that anyone even sees you or is out to find you know
that there is. God is always there and still loves you and wants you to come
back to the dry land. we are never lost to the father.
